Job summary

Colorado Academy in Denver, CO seeks a Boys Lacrosse Head of Program to lead the development and administration of the lacrosse program, reporting to the Director of Athletics.

The role oversees all levels, plans practices and contests, manages game film, supervises coaches, coordinates with athletics staff, and supports student-athlete academic success while upholding the school's mission.

Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate advanced interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Creative thinker with sound judgment and decision-making; strong problem-solving abilities and written/verbal communication.
• Recognized expert in team sports coaching principles for student-athletes.
• Efficient in email management and timely correspondence.
• Motor vehicle record must meet standards; First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Ability to stand/walk long periods; lift up to 50 lbs; work outdoors in varying weather.
• Strong written and verbal communication; dependable under deadlines and stress.
• Attention to detail; trustworthy, team-centered, and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the mission of the school and ensure coaches align with it.
• Oversee coaching across varsity through lower levels; supervise and evaluate coaching staff.
• Plan and oversee practices and contests to provide a positive, competitive experience.
• Manage game film access, scheduling, and distribution; coordinate with student managers.
• Coordinate hiring, supervision, and evaluation of coaches; ensure positions meet requirements.
• Schedule home contests and supervise, or arrange proper supervision as needed.
• Assist with MS/US contest scheduling, weather-related changes, and facility needs.
• Coordinate transportation for events if needed and assist with equipment purchasing.
• Support team photo scheduling, yearbook submissions, and updating rosters.
• Maintain MaxPreps pages and CA Boys Lacrosse Team pages; attend league meetings.
• Support coach development and provide constructive feedback; resolve conflicts.
