Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Coach for Spanish Springs High School to mentor students during Extended Day activities and athletic programs. Responsibilities include leadership, safety, and upholding high standards of sportsmanship.

The role requires interaction with students, staff, and the community, along with documenting activities and outcomes. Weekend work and variable hours may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; teaching certificate desirable for some applicants.
• Coaching/advising experience in this activity preferred.
• Possession of CPR certification preferred for athletic activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop rapport with students and provide leadership; model sportsmanship.
• Coordinate with Principal/Athletic Director; keep them informed on the program.
• Maintain equipment accountability and protection systems.
• Foster positive public relations in school and community.
• Attend contests and practice sessions as required.
• Complete reports evaluating activity and propose improvements.
