Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a high school assistant coach to develop student-athletes through skill instruction and positive leadership. The role emphasizes fundamentals, safety, and the growth of the whole student, academically and athletically, under the guidance of the head coach.

Candidates must meet WIAA age requirements, demonstrate prior coaching and teaching of drills, and be prepared to participate in practices, attend meetings, and promote the sport within the school and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior sport-specific playing and/or coaching experience in a secondary/post-secondary athletics program.
• Completion of the National Federation Coaching Fundamentals Course to include passing the test.

Responsibilities

• Lead drills and skill development for student-athletes.
• Promote the sport within the school and community and report scores to media/league website.
• Attend practices, games, and required meetings; enforce eligibility requirements and safety procedures.
• Maintain equipment and facilities, and communicate safety concerns to the head coach and athletic director.
