Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking an energetic high school assistant coach to support student-athletes in developing fundamental skills and positive character. You will work with the head coach to promote athletic excellence and whole-child growth within the school and community.

You will attend practices daily, model safe training practices, manage basic equipment and report scores to local media, while ensuring eligibility rules are followed and maintaining a professional demeanor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must meet WIAA age requirements: at least 19 to apply for assistant coaching positions and 21 for head coaching positions.

Responsibilities

• Promote sport within the school and community; report scores to designated media and league website.
• Attend practices and contests daily; implement a system of play as directed by the head coach.
• Model safety training and basic first aid; maintain working knowledge of related procedures.
• Ensure eligibility rules are understood and followed by team members; assist with compliance of District Eligibility Code.
• Report safety concerns or injuries promptly and participate in post-season and other program activities.
