Job summary

American StaffCorp is seeking a Box Header Welder Trainee to learn plate fitting, layout and weld industrial steel header boxes used in manufacturing air coolers and heat exchangers. You will read blueprints and prep metal to support certified welders.

You will gain hands-on experience with MIG stringer and Flux-core welding, operate basic fabrication tools, and follow strict ASME and AWS standards while maintaining safety in a heavy-industrial environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read a tape measure and blueprints.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a heavy-industrial environment.
• Welding/manufacturing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication Duties: Learn plate fitting, layout, and accurate material measurement.
• Welding Techniques: Practice MIG stringer and Flux-core welding procedures.
• Equipment Prep: Operate grinders, saws, and measuring tools.
• Quality Assurance: Assist in visual inspections and adhere to ASME and AWS standards.
