Job summary

Essential Parfums seeks a Retail Boutique Manager to lead our Nolita, New York shop. You will report to the Retail Manager in Paris, driving sales, developing the local team, and managing daily operations while expanding the boutique’s local client base.

You will own sales targets, optimize costs, and partner with the Paris team to ensure excellent service. Fluent English required; weekend availability and US work authorization are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of retail management experience, ideally in fragrance, beauty or luxury.
• Proven ability to develop teams and deliver sales results.
• Fluent English; other languages welcome.

Responsibilities

• Own boutique sales targets and control costs; analyze conversion, AVT, and units per transaction, then act on results.
• Recruit, onboard and coach the team; set objectives and schedules to support service quality.
• Lead on the shop floor; resolve client concerns and build relationships via clienteling, events and local partnerships.
• Oversee stock accuracy, replenishment, inventory counts, loss prevention and visual merchandising; manage cash handling, safety and data protection.
• Report performance and local market insights to Paris head office and coordinate with landlord and service providers.

Your role

Lead our boutique in Nolita, New York. Reporting to the Retail Manager at our Paris head office, you will take ownership of sales, team development and daily operations, while building the boutique’s local client base.

Your responsibilities

• Own boutique sales targets and controllable costs; analyze conversion, average transaction value and units per transaction, and turn results into clear action plans.
• Recruit, onboard and coach the team, set objectives and organize schedules that support service quality and comply with local requirements.
• Lead by example on the shop floor, resolve client concerns and build lasting relationships through clienteling, events and local partnerships.
• Oversee stock accuracy, replenishment, inventory counts, loss prevention and visual merchandising; uphold cash handling, safety and data protection procedures.
• Report performance and local market insights to the Retail Manager in Paris, and coordinate with head office, the landlord and local service providers.

Your profile

• At least 5 years of retail management experience, ideally in fragrance, beauty or luxury, with a record of developing teams and delivering sales results.
• A practical, organized leadership style, sound commercial judgment and the ability to work independently with a head office based abroad.
• An affinity with niche perfumery. Boutique opening experience and knowledge of the New York retail market are assets.
• Fluent English; additional languages are welcome.
• Availability for retail shifts, including weekends and peak trading periods, and authorization to work in the United States.
