Job summary

COREcruitment Ltd is assisting in the search for an experienced General Manager to lead a luxury boutique hotel in Geneva, Illinois, outside Chicago. You will oversee daily operations, drive revenue growth, and uphold exceptional guest service at the upper end of the market.

The role requires a hands-on hospitality leader capable of balancing operational excellence with commercial performance while maintaining personalised guest experiences. Relocation is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a General Manager, Hotel Manager, or senior hospitality leader within boutique or luxury properties.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations including rooms, F&B, banquets, events, and spa.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen in hotel sales, corporate accounts, and revenue generation.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasting, payroll, and profitability.
• Hands-on leadership style with ability to work with department heads and frontline teams.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Experience working with ownership or in independently operated hospitality businesses is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel operations across departments.
• Lead, develop, and motivate department heads and staff.
• Drive revenue through sales strategies, revenue management, and corporate accounts.
• Build relationships with local businesses to grow bookings.
• Maximise occupancy, ADR, and overall revenue.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, and expenses.
• Monitor KPIs and implement profitability initiatives.
• Maintain high guest satisfaction and service standards.
• Oversee sales and marketing to strengthen market position.
• Collaborate with ownership on strategic priorities and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with hospitality regulations and health and safety.
