Job summary

Copper Vine is seeking an Overnight Innkeeper to guard the guest experience from 10:30 PM to 6:00 AM in our downtown New Orleans property. You will be the on-site point of contact for late arrivals, access control, safety, and a thorough morning handoff.

You should be self-sufficient, exercise sound judgment, and know when to escalate issues while maintaining warmth and professional guest service throughout overnight duties.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel/inn or overnight operations experience preferred.
• Strong spoken and written communication skills.
• Ability to work the 10:30 PM – 6:00 AM shift, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Carry and actively monitor the Innkeeper phone; answer calls and messages promptly; assist with lockouts, comfort concerns, noise, maintenance, and other overnight guest needs with polished communication.
• Welcome and check in after-hours arrivals; confirm identity and reservation details; provide keys and property orientation; explain private access and breakfast hours.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs of guest areas; monitor access, safety, cleanliness, noise, lighting, and maintenance concerns.
• Protect guest privacy, key control, private entrances, and room access; follow procedures for emergencies and escalation.
• Maintain a calm overnight environment; keep common areas tidy and minimize disturbances.
• Record incidents, guest concerns, maintenance needs, late arrivals, and actions in approved systems; ensure clear handoffs.
• Deliver a concise, accurate handoff at 6:00 AM including status and open issues.
