Job summary

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants seeks a Staff Accountant to assist the Finance Department in the accounting functions for Hotel Vintage Seattle and the Portland property, under limited supervision. Typical duties include accounts payable, receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.

The role requires 2+ years accounting experience, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and proficiency with MS Office and PeopleSoft.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
• 2+ years accounting experience.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, journals, procedures, or regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to present information to groups of managers, clients, customers, and public.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Proficient in MS Office with emphasis on Excel and working knowledge of PeopleSoft.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, record, and process accounts payable and cash disbursement, and accounts receivable and cash receipts.
• Prepare allocation tables for indirect expenses and revenue items as needed.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliation.
• Prepare and process payroll and deductions schedules.
• Assist in posting to the general ledger for accounts receivable, cash receipts, accounts payable, cash disbursements and payroll.
• Review open invoice reports and follow up with a schedule of payments or adjustments.
• Assist comptroller with the year-end financial audit.
• Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner.
• Perform other related duties as directed or as needed.
