Job summary

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is seeking a hotel engineer to maintain all equipment, systems and building components across our boutique properties. You will play a pivotal role in guest experience from behind the scenes.

Responsibilities include maintaining mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint and related equipment. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required. Prior hotel maintenance experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Hotel engineer experience preferred; similar property maintenance acceptable.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to work in a guest-focused boutique hotel environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, repairs, and paints all parts of the hotel.
• Install and replace lighting fixtures and bulbs.
• Clean carpets and rugs.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines and discuss issues with supervisors.
• Dismantle defective machines and install repaired parts.
• Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
• Fabricate and repair furniture and fixtures.
• Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.
• Paint corridors, hotel rooms, and lobby areas when necessary.
• Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairs.
• Assist in delivering and setup of new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs.
• Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor on projects as assigned.
• Respond to all customer requests in a timely and personable manner.
