Job summary

The Churchill Hotel in Washington, DC is seeking a full-time bartender to manage bar duties, serve guests, and maintain stock. You will ensure accurate cash handling and knowledge of drinks.

The role requires excellent communication, the ability to work nights and weekends, and compliance with liquor liability training every two years; join a historic boutique hotel offering modern amenities.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with guests and associates.
• High work ethic and self-initiative.
• Able to work in high pressure and fast paced situations.
• May be required to work varying schedules to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Someone who enjoys working as and being part of a team that provides great experiences for our Guests!
• Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds as needed (e.g., files, office supplies).

Responsibilities

• Maintain bar supplies and prepare daily requisitions.
• Be familiar with liquor types, recipes, glassware, and garnishes.
• Know drink recipes, prices and beverages available.
• Handle cash, MICROS system (or registers), bank procedures and tip policies.
• Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge guests, maintaining positive guest relations.
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction in each interaction.
• Receive liquor liability training within 30 days of employment and every 2 years thereafter.
