Job summary

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is seeking a Banquet Chef to lead a busy kitchen team and deliver exceptional event dining. You'll maintain high standards of food quality, sanitation, and teamwork, working with the Catering and Banquets teams to execute functions from start to finish.

Your role requires 2+ years of kitchen experience, flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays, and a willingness to wear multiple hats. Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years relative experience in a kitchen of similar size.
• Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to wear multiple hats and support the team at Kimpton.
• Food Handler Certification and Alcohol Awareness Certification (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Provide banquet guests excellent food quality, consistency, and service while meeting quality goals.
• Create and maintain a sound working relationship with the banquet culinary team.
• Follow health requirements, OSHA, and Department of Labor regulations for kitchen employees.
• Prevent spoilage and contamination by enforcing sanitation practices and policy compliance.
• Maintain standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen rules.
• Stock and maintain food levels at line stations for smooth service.
• Ensure high quality presentation of all food to guests.
• Collaborate with Catering and Banquets teams to execute events from start to finish.
