Job summary

Southeast Conservation Corps is seeking a Boundary Marking Crew Member for AmeriCorps based in Chattanooga, TN. The roving crew will mark and maintain USFS exterior boundaries, collect field data, and travel to forest locations across the Southeast region.

Expect 10-hour days, camping, and safety-focused work in varied terrain. Training and certificates are provided; housing is not included off hitch.

Qualifications

• US citizen, national, or eligible permanent resident.
• 18–30 years old (up to 35 for veterans).
• High school diploma or equivalent; plan to obtain diploma if needed.
• Agree to background checks and outdoor safety requirements.
• Comfort with outdoor environments and learning new skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain exterior US Forest Service boundary lines and corners.
• Collect field data related to leasing and boundary activities.
• Travel to and work across various forest locations in the SE region.
• Camp overnight and work long days in challenging terrain.
• Shadow other departments to enrich the crew experience.
