Responsibilities

Assess repairs to ensure proper materials are on hand and ready.
Select and mix coating to produce desired color.
Examine finished surfaces to verify conformance to specifications.
Keep a clean and safe work area.
Report all damage or malfunctioning equipment.
Clean surfaces of workpieces in preparation for coating, using cleaning fluids, solvents, brushes.

FLSA Status:Hourly, Non-Exempt

Salary:Pay commensurate with experience.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

Assess repairs to ensure proper materials are on hand and ready.
Selects and mixes coating to produce desired color to match existing color on the watercraft.
Examine finished surfaces of workpieces to verify conformance to specifications and retouch any defective areas.
Clean and maintain tools and equipment, using solvents, brushes, and rags.
Read job orders and inspect workpieces to determine work procedures and materials required.
Select and mix ingredients to prepare coating substances according to specifications, using paddles or mixers
Clean surfaces of workpieces in preparation for coating, using cleaning fluids, solvents, brushes,
Conceal blemishes in workpieces, such as nicks and dents, using fillers such as putty.
Make any and all repairs complete with the utmost quality standards.
Perform quality checks throughout and at completion of jobs assigned to them or the team.
Keep a clean and safe work area. Follow safety procedures.
Responsible for following the quality systems procedures and standard operating procedures.
Cleans customer boats and ensures they are ready for pick up.
Polishes and waxes boats as needed.
Reports all damage or malfunctioning equipment to the Service Manager.
Additional duties and projects as assigned.

Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred

Experience: 1-2 years bottom paint and / or detailing experience preferred

Certifications & Licenses: Licenses: Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a Class E drivers and MO boaters license

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typical office environment with moderate noise level when working indoors. Outdoor and marine environment may contain uneven and slippery surfaces. Noise level may increase substantially upon interaction with watercraft.
