Job summary

Visit.org is looking for an experienced, responsible Freelance Event Specialist, Boston, MA to manage the logistics of an upcoming in-person event, which will be held live at a city near you!

The right candidate will be based in Boston, MA, and have corporate event experience, entrepreneurial spirit, extreme passion for our mission, and the energy and discipline to come in and be a builder in a start-up tech environment.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and strong communication skills.
• Based in Boston, MA.
• Schedule flexibility for contract per-event work.
• Experience with large-scale and intimate events.
• Ability to manage on-site logistics and problem-solve.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate event logistics, shipping materials, and staffing; be on-site hands-on.
• Join virtual planning meetings with corporate partner, nonprofit partner, and Visit.org staff.
• Set up, align with on-site team, tear down, and ensure high-quality guest experience.
• Represent Visit.org, lead and problem-solve at events.
• Manage check-in, greet guests, and handle on-site roles with partners.
• Escalate issues to the Events Team and provide updates with photos/videos.
• Breakdown after events and ship materials back to the distribution center.
• Pack supplies and add shipping labels for shipment.
