Job summary

City of Boston is seeking a Programs & Operations Manager for the Center for Working Families (CWF). The role partners with leadership to provide program operational support, secure funding, ensure compliance, and assist with data management for CWF and related initiatives in Boston.

You will lead grants development, manage reports, track deliverables, and build relationships with funders while strengthening organizational sustainability through strategic budgeting and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public administration, business administration, or related field required.
• Three years of grants management, fundraising, program operations, or nonprofit administration experience required.
• Experience in grant writing, grant administration, regulatory compliance, and funder relationship management.
• Knowledge of budget development, financial tracking, grant expenditures, and financial reporting.
• Ability to improve operational processes and collaborate across teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead fundraising and grant development to sustain and grow CWF programs (Boston Tax Help Coalition, Boston Saves, Financial Coaching, Bank On Boston).
• Research and pursue new funding opportunities aligned with CWF’s mission.
• Ensure funder compliance, track applications, awards, deliverables, and outcomes, and meet reporting timelines.
• Build relationships with funders, donors, and community partners.
• Develop long-term fundraising strategies to diversify revenue streams.
• Improve cross-team collaboration by streamlining workflows and aligning operations with goals.
• Provide project management and data reporting support for programs.
• Design and refine grant tracking, reporting, and performance measurement (Salesforce).
• Coordinate multi-department deliverables and grant obligations.
• Develop standard operating procedures to increase efficiency and knowledge sharing.
• Identify process improvements and strategic partnerships with leadership.
