Job summary

Neenah Foundry Company is seeking a machine operator to finish castings to customer specs. You will train on equipment including drill presses, boring mills, and CNC machines.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean work area, inspecting castings and tooling, using calipers and tape measures, and preparing parts for packaging. The role requires standing for long periods, tolerance for hot, loud environments, and accurate measurement recording.

Qualifications

Description

The machine operator is responsible for finishing of castings to customer specifications prior to the shipment of the product. The role offers the opportunity to train on all pieces of equipment in the machine shop including drill press, boring mill machines, manual, automatic, and CNC

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness of work station, tools, and PPE

Maintain equipment and work area

Complete full visual inspections of all castings

Inspect tools and machinery for defects

Use tape measure, calipers, depth gauge, and basic hand tools

Operate air hoists to move parts over 50 lbs.

Complete part to customer specifications

Prep finished castings for packaging

Must attend and participate in stretching exercises once per shift

Record work activity in the time management system

Attend weekly safety meetings

Education/Experience Requirements:

Previous machining experience preferred

Must demonstrate ability to take and record accurate measurements

Previous experience utilizing basic hand tools, hoists, calipers, tape measure, and depth gauge preferred

Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time

Must actively engage in safe working practices

Must be able to tolerate hot working conditions and a loud environment

Must be comfortable working in small spaces

Must be comfortable intense physical demands of the position

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be at least 18 years old to apply

Shifts:

Must be available to work 8-12 hour shifts

Must be available for overtime as production needs require

Shifts vary according to Plant assignment

Monday – Friday, some Saturdays and Sundays required.

Typical shift hours:

2 shift: 3 :00 pm - 1:00 am

Pay rate:

Base pay rate of $24.76, 2nd shift premium: $1.50, 3rd shift premium: $1.00

Base rates increase $1/hour upon successful completion of probation (60 working days)
