Job summary

Customs and Border Protection seeks a CBPO for entry-level law enforcement duties, offering a structured career ladder and potential relocation to mission-critical locations across the U.S. You will enforce customs laws, inspect travelers and goods, and ensure secure borders while enjoying federal benefits and a stable government career path.

Qualifications

• Experience: minimum of 1 year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level.
• Enforcing laws related to importing/exporting and international shipping.
• Using intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify threats.
• Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity for information gathering.
• Education substitution: master’s degree or two years of grad-level education, or law degree.
• Combination of experience and education allowed.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determining admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
• Preventing illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods and contraband.
