Job summary

Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) roles offer entry-level federal law enforcement opportunities with lucrative recruitment incentives. The program includes a 3- or 4-year service contract, with up to $15,000 incentive per year, plus standard federal benefits and the prospect of overtime pay

New hires undergo paid pre-academy orientation and attend the CBP Field Operations Academy for comprehensive training, preparing officers for duties protecting U.S. borders and enforcing laws.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level or equivalent.
• Experience detaining suspects of federal/state/local laws and/or arresting violators.
• Experience enforcing laws related to importing/exporting and international shipping.

Responsibilities

• Enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Conduct inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determine admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
