Job summary

Customs and Border Protection offers new-hire CBPO positions with incentives and a clear federal career ladder. You will help protect America by enforcing laws, inspecting travelers, and supporting legitimate trade and travel.

Incentives include up to $15,000 per year for 3- or 4-year contracts in select locations, with starting salaries from $63,431 to $127,464 per year, plus overtime eligibility and comprehensive federal benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GS-5) or equivalent.
• Master's degree or two years of progressive graduate education, or LL.B./J.D. from an accredited institution (education substitution).
• Combination of experience and education may be used to meet the qualification requirements.
• U.S. citizenship is required to apply.
• Residency: primary U.S. residence for at least three of the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Facilitate the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Inspect individuals and conveyances to determine admissibility.
• Deter illicit activity and safeguard borders.
