Job summary

Qualifications

• Citizenship: You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply.
• Residency: You must have had primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.
• Age Restriction: You must be referred for selection before your 40th birthday unless exemptions apply.
• Veterans’ Preference: You may be eligible for Veterans' Recruitment Appointment (VRA).

Responsibilities

• Enforcing the laws and regulations related to importing, exporting, and international shipping to and from the United States.
• Detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws using proper law enforcement methods.
• Conducting interviews and risk assessments as part of enforcement activities.
• Determining admissibility for entry into the United States and preventing unlawful entry and contraband.
