Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officers (CBPOs) play a critical role in safeguarding U.S. borders. The agency offers competitive base pay, comprehensive federal benefits, and potential recruitment incentives for qualified candidates.

Appointments are at GS-5, GS-7, or GS-9 with the possibility of promotion to GS-11/GS-12. Base salary ranges from $41,863 to $127,464 per year, with overtime eligibility up to $45,000. Training at FLETC is required after hire.

Formación

• GS-5: education or general experience substitution may qualify.
• GS-7: one year of specialized experience and related competencies.
• GS-9: specialized experience and/or higher education requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Enforce customs, immigration, agriculture laws and regulations.
• Inspect individuals, documents, and conveyances.
• Determine admissibility for entry into the United States and prevent illicit importation.
