Customs and Border Protection is recruiting CBPOs to enforce laws at the nation’s borders and to perform inspections of individuals and conveyances in support of national security and commerce.

These full-time positions offer competitive federal pay, robust benefits, and career stability within CBP. Applicants must meet citizenship, residency, and education/experience requirements for GS-5, GS-7, or GS-9 levels.

Qualifications

• GS-5/GS-7/GS-9 grade levels with promotion potential; qualification varies by education and experience.
• Experience: 3 years general or 1 year at GS-4 equivalent; Education substitution allowed.
• GS-7 requires specialized experience or education substitution; GS-9 requires higher-level qualifications.

Responsabilités

• Enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Inspect individuals and conveyances for admissibility and risk.
• Oversee flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Determine eligibility of entry into the United States.
• Prevent illegal entry and contraband from entering the country.
