Job summary

Customs and Border Protection is hiring CBPOs at the GS-5, GS-7, or GS-9 levels across multiple locations in the United States. The role involves enforcing nationwide laws on borders, trade, and travel with a strong emphasis on inspections and eligibility determinations.

Qualifications

• GS-5: 3 years general experience or 1 year at GS-4 or education substitution with a bachelor’s degree.
• GS-7: 1 year specialized experience including inspections and compliance with laws and regulations.
• GS-9: 1 year specialized experience with inspections, interviews, and enforcement knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture law and regulations.
• Enforcing the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determining the admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
• Preventing illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods and the smuggling of illegal drugs and other contraband
