U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) at multiple grades (GL-5, GL-7, GL-9, GS-11). This federal role offers competitive base pay, broad benefits, and job stability within the DHS. Incentives may include recruitment and retention pay.

New BPA appointments include a path to GS-12 with annual salaries ranging broadly by grade. Training at the CBP Academy is provided, with comprehensive benefits and a strong mission to secure the nation’s borders.

Formación

• One year of general work experience or a bachelor’s degree qualifies for GL-5.
• Education substitution allows a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• A combination of experience and education is acceptable and evaluated from resume/transcripts.

Responsabilidades

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of immigration and customs violations and inspecting documents.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance.
• Interpreting tracks, marks, and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using various assets.
