border, with diverse duty locations nationwide. Base pay ranges from $51,632 to $124,717 per year, plus generous benefits, a Thrift Savings Plan, and recruitment/retention incentives totaling up to $50,000.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience with ability to take charge and stay composed in stressful situations.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor’s degree OR a combination of experience and education.
• Ability to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and examination of documents and records.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and custom laws.
• Inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpreting tracks and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Patrolling borders and coastal waterways using various government assets.
