Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents in the United States. The role covers entry and mid-level positions with competitive base pay, comprehensive benefits, and potential recruitment or retention incentives.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience OR education substitution as outlined for GL-5.
• GL-7 requires one year of specialized experience OR a bachelor’s degree with related substitution.
• GL-9/GL-11 require 1 year of specialized experience with law enforcement related duties.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration or customs violations and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using patrol methods and surveillance.
• Interpret evidence of illegal entry and carry out checks during patrols and vehicle or waterway surveillance.
