Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is actively seeking Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) to join a large federal law enforcement agency within the Department of Homeland Security.

BPAs perform a core role in border security with opportunities across numerous duty locations and paths for advancement. The position requires knowledge of immigration law, use of force policy, and criminal law; training leads to higher grades and federal benefits including health and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of immigration and nationality law and related policies.
• Familiarity with use of force guidelines and firearms safety.
• Understanding of criminal law and procedure and investigative reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical searches of detained individuals and surroundings for weapons, contraband, and evidence.
• Apprehend violators and ensure custody; maintain safety of self and others.
• Respond to incidents, conduct investigations, and prepare clear reports.
