Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring Border Patrol Agents (GL-9/GS-11) for full-time, career positions. Your prior law enforcement experience may qualify you for higher-graded BPA opportunities. Duty assignments may include the Southwest Border, and relocation could be required.

You'll receive excellent base pay, locality pay, overtime, and substantial recruitment/retention incentives totaling up to $60,000. Positions span numerous sectors including El Centro, Laredo, El Paso, and Yuma.

Qualifications

• GL-9: 1 year specialized experience.
• GS-11: 1 year specialized experience.
• Proficiency with firearms and preparing investigative reports.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations.
• Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Maintain surveillance to deter and apprehend violators near borders.
• Patrol borders and coastal areas using a variety of assets (vehicles, horses, boats, etc.).
• Prepare and submit investigative reports to support law enforcement actions.
