Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is urgently hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) at full‑time, entry and mid‑level career levels.

Positions may qualify by education or prior general safety/public safety experience, with recruitment incentives and a robust federal benefits package. Typical duties include border surveillance, questioning individuals, documenting findings, and carrying out a variety of checks and patrols using vehicles, horses, vessels, and equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-vision equipment.
• Interpreting tracks, marks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks; patrolling boundaries and waterways with various assets.
