Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) to join a nationwide federal law enforcement team. The role includes detecting and questioning individuals, inspecting documents, and enforcing immigration and customs laws along U.S. borders.

Qualifications

• Experience in general public safety, security, or law enforcement preferred.
• Education substitutions include a bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course of study.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-vision equipment.
• Interpreting tracks and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using vehicles, horses, vessels, and other assets.
