Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) in multiple duty locations across the United States. This federal law enforcement role offers competitive base pay, comprehensive benefits, and career stability within the CBP family.

As a BPA, you will perform inspections, surveillance, and law enforcement duties to protect the border, uphold immigration and customs laws, and support national security, with academy training and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge and stay calm under pressure.
• Ability to learn regulations and procedures through training and on-the-job instruction.
• Ability to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and document examination.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study.
• Combination of experience and education may qualify at higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens near borders using surveillance and night operations.
• Interpret tracks, marks, and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform farm/building/traffic/city/transportation checks as part of patrol duties.
• Patrol international boundaries and waterways using diverse government assets.
