Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) in full-time positions across the United States. CBP offers federal benefits, job stability, and recruitment incentives for qualified applicants with education or law enforcement experience.

As a BPA, you will perform duties such as border surveillance, questioning persons, inspecting documents, and patrolling international boundaries using various assets. Training at the Border Patrol Academy is provided.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience showing ability to learn regulations and gather information.
• Ability to take charge, make decisions, and stay calm in stressful situations.
• Education may substitute work experience per qualification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
• Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpret tracks, marks and evidence of illegal entry and contraband.
• Patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways using various assets.
