Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) at full-time, entry to mid-level levels. Positions may require education or experience in public safety or law enforcement, with base pay and federal benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of Experience and Education may qualify as well.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders using surveillance and field inspection techniques.
• Interpreting tracks, marks, and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband; performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling the international boundary and waterways using a range of government assets to accomplish CBP missions.
