Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge and make decisions under stress.
• A bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course leading to a degree; or
• A combination of general work experience and education may suffice.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-vision equipment.
• Interpreting tracks and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling international boundaries and waterways using a variety of assets to fulfill the USBP mission.
