Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field.
• Combination of general work experience AND college education can qualify for higher grades.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violations; inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpreting tracks, marks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm, building, traffic, city and transportation checks.
• Patrolling borders and waterways using various government assets to fulfill CBP mission.
