Job summary

Christy Sports in Tacoma is seeking an enthusiastic bootfitting specialist to help guests find the right ski and snowboard gear and to assist with inventory control. You will assess fit, perform boot adjustments, and guide customers through product selection while delivering outstanding service.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, enjoy working with people, and can stand for long periods while lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Friendly, outgoing and comfortable working with people.
• Ski/snowboard background preferred.
• Prior boot fitting experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• English fluency, written and verbal.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide bootfitting services: boot selection and purchase.
• Perform boot customizations/modifications and build custom foot beds/liners.
• Develop sales techniques and deliver excellent customer service.
• Stay current on ski industry products and trends to share knowledge with guests.
• Adhere to safety procedures when using tools and equipment.
• Maintain merchandising and store cleanliness of hard goods.
• Demonstrate desire to grow within the company.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary Description

This position is primarily responsible for the proper fitting of ski and snowboard boots, the sale of ski / snowboard equipment and assisting with inventory control.

Essential Functions

• Determine guest needs and provide exceptional bootfitting services, including:
  • Boot selection and purchase
  • Boot customizations / modifications
  • Building of custom foot beds and liners
• Develop successful sales techniques and provide exceptional customer service
• Remain current on ski industry products and trends to share knowledge with guests
• Adhere to safety procedures regarding use of tools and equipment
• Maintain merchandising of hard good product lines and store cleanliness standards
• Demonstrate the desire to succeed and grow within the company
• Other duties as may be assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent
