Job summary

Aspen Skiing Company seeks a Boot Fitter to provide expert boot fitting services, custom foot beds, shell and liner modifications, and stance alignment. You will assist customers with product knowledge, options, and accessories, delivering an exceptional shopping experience and building lifelong relationships.

This seasonal full-time role reports to the Store Manager and requires strong guest service, English communication, and the ability to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years boot fitting and retail sales experience.
• Boot fitting certification preferred.
• Bi-lingual language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Listen to customer needs and recommend appropriate products.
• Greet customers promptly and identify their needs.
• Explain product benefits, usage, maintenance, and warranties.
• Use POS to manage customer profiles, discounts, and returns.
• Keep sales floor clean and organized; maintain back stock.

Boot Fitter – Job Description

The Boot Fitter will provide exceptional boot fitting services, including custom foot bed fabrication, boot shell modifications, liner modifications and stance alignment. The role involves assisting customers to ensure they have a fun and memorable shopping experience by providing product knowledge, options, and accessories. The Boot Fitter is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and creating lifelong customers, not just a sale. This position reports to the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions for customers by listening to their needs and recommending appropriate products; build customer confidence and help make selections.
• Greets customers promptly and determines needs quickly.
• Possesses detailed knowledge of product benefits and features.
• Demonstrates product uses and operation and provides details about merchandise specifications, maintenance, care, delivery, and warranties.
• Answers questions about merchandise, the store, Aspen Skiing Company products and services and the resort.
• Keeps clientele informed by notifying them of sales and potential future merchandise.
• Utilizes the company’s POS system to create or update customer profile records, process discounts and payments, administer exchanges and returns, provide change and receipts.
• Collaborates with other team members to keep the sales floor area clean and organized at all times.
• Assists in maintaining the back-stock room.
• Identifies and monitors security issues and notifies management; helps prevent loss and theft of cash and inventory.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 3 years of previous boot fitting experience and retail sales experience required.
• Boot fitting certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to communicate and follow oral or written directions in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Must demonstrate a high level of snow sports industry product knowledge and have a passion for the industry.
• Bi-lingual language skills (Spanish, Portuguese, French or others) preferred.
• Ability to remain focused, organized, flexible, and detail-oriented.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures and exercises caution when working.
• Must possess excellent guest service skills.
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, walk or be on feet for extended periods, including kneeling and bending.
• Work primarily indoors; some exposure to outdoor elements, with slippery and uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 25 lbs. individually or with assistance.
