Job summary

Books A Million in Richmond, VA is seeking a 2nd & Charles Associate to provide exceptional customer service and assist shoppers at the register with accuracy and friendliness.

You will greet customers, answer questions, and suggest products while stocking and organizing displays to support promotions and store programs.

Ideal candidates are 16+ years old, pass background checks, and have basic computer and cash register skills; retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of all background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provides customers with the highest level of customer service by greeting each customer, communicating and assisting customers with questions and orders, and efficient cashiering.
• Sales of all products, offer point of sale initiatives including Magazine program, Text 2 Mobile Program, Educator programs, and other company-sponsored programs.
• Delivers and places product on the sales floor in accordance with merchandising guidelines and timelines.
• Recovers the sales floor during each shift, including resetting tables and shelves, shelving books and product, store housekeeping/cleaning tasks.
• Protects company assets by adhering to loss prevention standards and integrity in transactions.
• Performs other duties including assisting in other departments (buyback, receiving shipments, fixture maintenance, inventory, restroom cleanliness).
