Books-A-Million is seeking an enthusiastic Bookseller to engage customers on the sales floor and at the register. You’ll help customers find books, share recommendations, and ensure a smooth checkout in a fast-paced environment.

We value readers who can connect with shoppers, manage displays, and balance multiple tasks while delivering great service. This hourly role is based in a Books-A-Million location in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of all required background screenings.
• Love of books and reading.
• Strong communication and connection with customers.
• Ownership mindset and ability to multitask.
• Retail or customer service experience.
• Comfort with technology and transactions.

Responsibilities

• Welcome every customer with warmth and enthusiasm, helping them discover what they’re looking for and making checkout quick and accurate.
• Drive sales by helping customers find the right products and highlighting benefits and programs that add value.
• Create inviting displays and follow merchandising guidelines to keep tables and shelves fresh and engaging.
• Handle every transaction with care, honesty, and integrity while adhering to loss-prevention standards.
• Assist with inventory, stock, and store upkeep; support across departments as needed.
