Job summary

Books-A-Million in Hattiesburg, MS is seeking a friendly Bookseller who provides exceptional customer service, is knowledgeable about books and merchandise, and proactively assists shoppers for a great in-store experience.

You will greet customers, answer questions, operate the cash register, stock shelves, and help with inventory and store housekeeping while following loss prevention standards and supporting store programs and promotions.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older and able to pass required background screenings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple customer interactions.
• Previous retail sales experience and comfort with computers and cash registers.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide the highest level of customer service; assist with questions and orders; operate the cash register efficiently.
• Promote and sell products and participate in membership and other company programs.
• Balance cash drawer following each shift.
• Arrange products on the sales floor according to merchandising guidelines.
• Restock and tidy the sales floor; perform housekeeping and inventory support.
• Follow loss prevention standards and act with integrity in all transactions.
• Support other departments and duties as assigned.
