Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll, and client support. You will post transactions into ledgers, reconcile accounts, generate statements, and handle payroll duties with precision.

As part of the role, you will prepare 1099s/W-2s, communicate with clients and banking contacts, and contribute to client retention and growth opportunities, while upholding confidentiality and GAAP standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications preferred or ability to obtain them.
• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience with GAAP knowledge.
• Ability to interpret policies and handle confidential information.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts; generate financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll; manage 1099s and W2s.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Support client retention and growth opportunities.
