Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver precise bookkeeping, payroll and client service. You will post financial transactions, reconcile accounts, generate financial statements, and handle payroll and tax document preparation for clients.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, familiarity with GAAP, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Xero experience is preferred, and certifications in bookkeeping/payroll are valued.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers
• Reconcile and balance accounts
• Generate and analyze financial statements
• Prepare and process payroll
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities
