The role covers balancing and reconciling ledgers, preparing periodic reports on income, expenses and taxes, and performing payroll services in compliance with wage and hour laws. File maintenance and ongoing training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No previous work experience necessary.

Responsibilities

• Receives operational data for entry into the client's bookkeeping system and determines the best method to record financial information; records information into the bookkeeping system.
• Ensures all checks are endorsed properly and deposited into the proper account each day; prepares charge card transactions on the day received; reports income and bank charges.
• Balances and reconciles ledgers; reconciles cash and bank accounts on an agreed basis, comparing balances to other sources.
• Develops detailed periodic reports for the business client on income, expenses, gross taxes, and other items as needed.
• Performs payroll services including preparation of payroll checks and periodic payroll reports; ensures compliance with wage and hour laws.
• Maintains a manual file system to store hard-copy documents after entry.
• Identifies process issues and notifies management of potential concerns and solutions related to maintenance of financial records.
• Participates in meetings and training to improve bookkeeping service; attends training related to job duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
