Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily bookkeeping including journal entries and ledgers.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Conduct bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial reports such as balance sheet and income statement.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity per GAAP.
  • Assist budgeting, forecasting, and internal audits as needed.
  • Process monthly property mortgages and payments.

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help support the organization’s financial health and operational efficiency, enabling us to achieve our mission with confidence and clarity. Duties
  • Manage daily bookkeeping activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger maintenance using accounting software such as Appfolio or similar systems.
  • Monitor and review accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment scheduling.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Prepare and analyze detailed financial reports, including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity by recording transactions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other applicable accounting standards.
  • Assist with budgeting processes, forecasts, financial analysis, and internal audits as needed to support organizational goals, compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Process monthly property mortgages and other payments.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of accounting systems.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation techniques.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), financial reports, and 10-key typing skills for efficient data entry.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with vendors, residents, contractors and teams.
  • Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • At least five years of related experience.
