Job summary

Edly is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks and assist our treasury function in keeping funds flowing between investors and partner schools. The role supports external tax preparers and ensures audit-ready records in a regulated financial services setting.

Ideal candidates have 2–4+ years in bookkeeping, strong QuickBooks skills (Online preferred), and solid accounting fundamentals. A related degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2-4+ years of professional bookkeeping experience required.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks (QuickBooks Online preferred) is required.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Experience supporting balance sheet and income statement preparation.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage recurring deadlines (funding cycles, month-end close, tax deadlines).
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date books in QuickBooks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank/credit card reconciliations.
  • Support the treasury function by helping process and track incoming investor funding and outgoing disbursements to partner schools for student loan funding.
  • Monitor cash movements to ensure funding draws, school disbursements, and loan fundings are recorded accurately and on schedule.
  • Assist in reconciling treasury and bank accounts.
  • Support tax preparation by organizing financial records, compiling schedules, and responding to requests from external accountants or tax preparers.
  • Help maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions, in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Support ad hoc financial reporting and special projects as requested by the Controller or Finance leadership.

Job description

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team at the Edly student loan company. This role owns day‑to‑day bookkeeping in QuickBooks, supports our external tax preparers and provides hands‑on support to our treasury function, which manages the flow of funds between our capital sources and the schools we fund on behalf of student borrowers. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a regulated financial services environment and is equally capable handling routine transaction recording and higher‑stakes treasury and reporting tasks.

Key Responsibilities
