Qualifications

• Basic mechanical and math skills required.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for an extended period.
• Knowledge of arithmetic and the English language, including spelling.
• Ability to work independently with little direction.
• Understanding of work instructions, processes, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to complete work and required paperwork thoroughly, accurately, and neatly.
• Initiative, teamwork, and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Meet deadlines and work overtime and other shifts.
• Prompt and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and tend edge printer and staining equipment.
• Review work orders, instructions, and quality specifications to determine components, settings, and adjustments.
• Start machines to verify set ups and make necessary adjustments.
• Prepare and load materials.
• Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and report and resolve issues.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• Provide work direction to bindery assistants assigned staining area.
• Perform general maintenance on machine.
• Continually identify, develop, and implement improvements in work processes.
• Provide training on machine and provide feedback to supervisors regarding progress of trainees.
• Consistently and effectively serve as a positive role model by living Sheridan’s core values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
