Job summary

Hachette Book Group in New York City is seeking a Sales Coordinator to support Gift & Specialty Sales through strong customer service, order processing, and inventory management. The role emphasizes operations, production schedules, and data-driven support for account needs.

You will collaborate with editors, designers, and vendors, manage multiple projects, and help prepare compelling presentations for accounts while ensuring timely delivery and accuracy across all orders.

Qualifications

• BFA preferred.
• Approximately one to three years of experience in illustrated book design.
• Strong knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator is required.
• Previous design experience required, typesetting experience a plus.
• Knowledgeable of book traditions and typographic conventions.
• Strong time management, follow-up, and follow-through skills.
• Great attitude/team player.
• A portfolio that shows great ideation, design, and type skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with editors and designers to develop cover and interior concepts.
• Research, hire, and communicate with illustrators and photographers.
• Resolve design snags and keep schedules on track.
• Design mechanicals, make reprint corrections, and prepare titles for production.
• Review and correct proofs with senior staff.
• Attend weekly production meetings with the publisher.
