Job summary

HCA Healthcare's St. David's South Austin Medical Center is hiring an Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT). You will support nurses with advanced clinical tasks and help create a safe, welcoming environment for patients and families.

Responsibilities include observing patients, assisting with daily activities, phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, IV/catheter care, and sample collection. No travel, no prior experience required; BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of starting.

Qualifications

• No prior healthcare experience required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Observe patients, document changes, and communicate them with the nursing team
• Help patients with daily needs (ADLs) such as eating, drinking, bathing, and moving safely
• Provide advanced care, including phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, removing IV lines and catheters, and care for wounds
• Assist with supporting tasks like collecting lab samples and assisting with clerical duties to keep care running smoothly
• Look ahead to what patients might need, respond quickly, and help ensure every experience feels seamless and compassionate
