Job summary

HCA Healthcare's St. David's South Austin Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Department. The role supports registered nurses, assisting with vital signs, mobility, and personal care to promote a safe, welcoming patient environment.

The PCT works closely with the nursing team to monitor patients, follow care plans, and ensure cleanliness and readiness of patient areas. Strong teamwork and empathy are essential for delivering compassionate care daily.

Qualifications

  • BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery.
  • Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
  • Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
  • Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
  • Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will be a vital part of our collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients.You'llassistwith daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNsmonitorconditions and carry out care plans. Your attention, empathy, and teamwork help restore comfort and dignity for every patient you serve and make our mission to improve lives a reality each day.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assistingwith patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
